We insure everything for its full value plus shipping. Fedex has been very heavy handed with our boxes over the years, and one out of 50 of them get DESTROYED along the way. We’re not Amazon.com. We are a small company and we can’t afford the thousands of dollars in replacements that Fedex has caused us over the years.
Remember, each panel/canvas print is HAND-MADE in the USA from the ground up by a real human being, not a machine on an assembly line in China, and so this process is time consuming and more costly.
Second, each shipment has delivery confirmation, meaning that upon delivery, the driver is required to get a signature by you or someone at your residence. With package theft being at an all time high, as a small company, we cannot afford to replace stolen packages.
Also, during the holiday season, Fedex/UPS rates are higher because, well, they can.
All these things, plus the cost of the box contribute to the shipping price.
